A GRP swimming pool is a prefabricated, fully tiled pool shell, manufactured in factory conditions and delivered to site ready to install.
Crystal Leisure Swimming Pools works in collaboration with Spa Design & Build to create bespoke GRP swimming pools. Every pool is manufactured uniquely to your requirements, combining durability with a beautiful tiled finish, using only market-leading materials and highly experienced tradesmen.
Our team then takes care of everything on site, from the groundworks and installation through to the pipework, filtration, heating and final handover.
Why choose GRP over concrete?
Choosing GRP over concrete for your pool brings many benefits, including reduced installation time, faster construction and a lower overall project cost.
GRP is an enhanced, not inferior, alternative to concrete and comes with the same warranties. Because each pool is built in factory conditions rather than on an open site, the weather can’t hold up the programme, so project dates can be planned with far more certainty.
Every pool is also water tested before it leaves the factory, so there are no leakage issues to worry about on site, and the quality of the finish is checked and controlled at every stage.
Designed, manufactured and delivered
Every GRP pool follows a carefully managed process, from the first drawings to the day it’s lifted into place.
Design
Choose from a range of standard moulds or something completely bespoke. Your pool is drawn up in detail before manufacture begins, so every element is agreed in advance.
Manufacture
Your pool is built and tiled in a 12,000 sq ft manufacturing facility, with in-house GRP, tiling, plumbing and electrical expertise. Every stage is checked and signed off under strict quality management (QMS) control.
Delivery & installation
Once tested, your pool is delivered to site and craned into position. It can be installed in as little as one day, ready for our team to complete the pipework and plant connections.
Be part of the process
One of the biggest benefits of a factory-manufactured pool is that you can watch it take shape.
You’re welcome to view your pool at all stages of manufacture and see each stage approved and signed off, ensuring quality in both the appearance and the structural integrity of your pool.
You’ll also be involved from the very beginning, choosing the exact positions of features such as air jets, water jets, massage features and lights, along with the tiles that define the look of your pool. It gives you total control over the design, and the comfort of knowing exactly where your pool is up to.
Installation to suit your site
GRP pools can be installed fully accessible or backfilled, depending on your site and how you’d like your pool to be maintained.
Fully accessible
The pool is installed with access around the outside of the shell, giving greater access to the fittings. If anything ever needs attention it can be reached quickly, meaning less downtime, which is particularly important for commercial pools.
Backfilled
The pool shell is set into the ground and backfilled around its sides, ready for the pool surround and landscaping to be completed.
Limited access to your site? GRP pools can be manufactured in multiple sections and joined on site. The join is then tiled over and the final plumbing and electrics completed.
