Delivering a Modern Commercial Pool for Holiday Park Guests
Crystal Leisure Swimming Pools was appointed to design, manufacture, install and commission a 20m x 10m commercial swimming pool at Unity Beach Holiday Park, creating a modern and inviting leisure facility for guests to enjoy for years to come.
The brief was to deliver a high-quality commercial pool that catered for families of all ages. The finished design incorporated a 0.5m-deep children’s splash area alongside a 1.2m-deep main swimming pool, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for both younger children and confident swimmers.
Planning & Site Preparation
Every successful commercial swimming pool project begins with thorough planning and preparation.
Following a detailed site survey, our team carefully assessed the location, access requirements and underground services before work commenced. Extensive groundworks were then carried out, including the excavation of the swimming pool footprint and the installation of pipe trenches leading to the dedicated commercial plant room.
Precision at this stage is essential, as it provides the foundation for the entire project and ensures the pool structure, pipework and mechanical systems perform efficiently for many years.
Constructing the Pool Base
Once excavation was complete, the base was prepared using reinforcement mesh before being concreted to create a strong, perfectly level foundation capable of supporting the commercial pool structure.
Accuracy during this phase is critical, ensuring the prefabricated pool sections align precisely during installation.
Manufacturing & Installation
Unlike traditional in-situ concrete pools, this commercial swimming pool was manufactured off-site in a controlled warehouse environment, allowing exceptional quality control and reducing installation time on site.
The completed pool shell was transported to Unity Beach Holiday Park in six individual sections. Using specialist lifting equipment and a mobile crane, each section was carefully positioned onto the prepared base before being accurately aligned and joined together.
Following installation, our team completed the structural connections before professionally joining, sealing, tiling and grouting each section to create a seamless, watertight finish.
Commercial Plant Room Installation
A commercial swimming pool is only as effective as the systems operating behind the scenes.
The pool was connected to a purpose-built commercial plant room housing high-performance equipment designed to ensure outstanding water quality, energy efficiency and ease of maintenance. The installation included:

A state-of-the-art system to maintain crystal-clear water.
Automatic Chemical Dosing
Continuously monitors and maintains safe water chemistry.
Commercial Pipework
Connecting the pool to the plant room.
Before commissioning, every pipe was thoroughly pressure tested to verify the integrity of the entire hydraulic system and ensure complete reliability.
Commissioning the Pool
Following successful testing, the pool was gradually filled before our engineers carried out the full commissioning process.
This included checking water circulation, balancing water chemistry, calibrating the automatic dosing equipment, testing the filtration and heating systems, and ensuring every component operated exactly as designed.
Only once every system had been rigorously tested and met our high standards was the swimming pool handed over, fully operational and ready for guests to enjoy.
